SHALU CHISENGA
About
Shalu Chisenga is a Zambian self-taught singer-songwriter, guitarist and music producer who has lived in Germany since 2020.
His lyrics talk about inspiration and love, but also about topics such as social inequality and farewell. By fusing traditional and modern elements as well as different languages (English and Nyanja) and music genres, Shalu aims to inspire people and connect cultures - in his words "My heart is a part of the galaxy and my art is to show you what you can be - “Can’t you see”. His sensitive and powerful voice takes the listener on a journey through the entire spectrum of emotions and the hopeful and rhythmic sounds of his acoustic guitar invite you to dream and dance. By combining numerous musical genres such as blues, (Afro) folk, soul, rap and hip-hop, Shalu is the best example of the modern face and diversity of the African continent.
